I have bouts where I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I’m a marketing gal, but I’ve also been a media producer, an award-winning actress, model, and a long list of other things. I'm in, as they say, a midlife crisis - an identity crisis and a crisis of conscience.
Who am I at my core? What’s my purpose? How do I benefit others?
Last year while chatting with one of my oldest and dearest friends, I told him that I'd finally figured out the answers to the questions that plague me; I know what I want for my next reinvention. I told him this time around, I just want to be real. Of course, he asked what that meant, and I said, "Exactly!"
I don't know how my next chapter will unfold, only that with every fiber of my being, I must keep it real - my real, my way. And THIS is my midlife anti-crisis.
#RealTalk is my real, raw, quirky midlife commentary and personal essays aimed to inspire, motivate, and encourage you to live life on your terms.
You don't have to have it all figured out all of the time. Sometimes all you can do is commit to showing up and let the rest follow.
Not in midlife? That’s cool. #RealTalk is also an exploration of intentional living - what it means to live on purpose.
“Jae writes on topics that not only appeal to me - but trigger thoughtful conversations and questions. Her stories always draw you in and leave you with a message you may not have known you were looking for.” - Carrie M.
Jae’s writing is both motivational and inspiring while at the same time she keeps it “real”. I highly recommend her blog #RealTalk, you won’t be disappointed! Susie T.
I support Jae and #RealTalk. Whatever she's talking about, it hits home. As a fellow writer, #RealTalk has inspired me to get more "real" with my own writing. One of my favourite blogs on the internet, no doubt. - Jas H.
